I've been thinking if I were to move to India and never to come back, what are the things that I will miss about US.
(1) Food from other cuisines. Ofcourse, you get great food in India but wont there be times when you would crave for american pancakes/waffles with whipped cream and strawberry compote along with a good cup of drip coffee. When you get cold, nice pho. Different varieties of bread..
(2) The friends who have stood the test of time and have been by my side through thick and then. Not judging you but there with you because you are his/her friend. I will miss my face time with them :( ( this is most painful part). This is the best of my life in US too..something I missed but couldnt spot while growing up in India.
(3) having people around who think 30s are the new 20s and live life like that. Seeing inspiring people in their 60s who are "living" instead of "existing". The cultural exposure to what is possible and being reminded about it from time to time.
(4) Money: The kind of money that you can buy whatever you wish for and still see positive balance in your account. Also, the freedom to not spend on things you dont want to spend on and still not be judged by your clothing/vehicle and other visibily materialistic stuff. The affordability of quality stuff and high end restaurants without the need to sell an arm and leg.
(5) Not having folks who poke their nose too much into your life, if it shouldnt be their business.
(6) Plenty of free land, clear air, beautiful landscapes all in walkable distance from where you live.
(7) Netflix-watch instantly and libraries' supply of foreign movies.
