A trip down the memory lane brought sweet memories about how close my parents were when we were growing up. Nuclear family paved way for better expression of love and affection.. freedom of speech and thought within the safe confines of the home. The closeness I shared with my parents was also a reason why I didnt feel the need for intimate friends back in college days. Life away from home taught me about friendship.. thats a topic for another day and have already blogged about it.. so will not bore you on the same :).
There was a small period of time in the recent past where I felt my parents are no longer into each other and their marriage is almost dead. When I was wondering about what happened between then and now that caused this. Thats when my friend quipped.. apple does not fall far from the tree and we may be no different at that age. I am not a person who believes in fate and I hate settling for less. Same goes for what i wish for my near and dear ones. I am glad i had a heart-to-heart with my parents about it today. My dad was indeed surprised that I thought they might very well get divorced instead be the way they were the last time i met them. He was shocked and said that was transient ..and wasnt really aware of that. When I hung up, I knew for sure that he will put in an extra effort to keep the woman in his life happy like he always did :). I do sincerely thank God for the people in my life.. they never cease to amaze/inspire me :)

Life goes on..
Often life throws surprises/shocks at you. Breaking my foot was a shock but brought a new perspective.. slowed down life enough to enjoy it and forget about worrying about future. New friends.. new experiences.. reminds of Forrest Gump's quote "My mama said life is like a box of chocolates.. u never know what you are gonna get". Well, this is one movie I will make any little one I know to get a Life 101.
