Potluck

I am not a fan of potluck. Whenever I am invited to a potluck, I feel like I am "forced" to cook and my mind goes blank thinking about what to cook and a sudden aversion to cooking engulfs me. I like cooking..infact I enjoy cooking for others. I like inviting people home for dinner/brunch once in a while but potluck just turns me off . I feel so wary when I think of attending a potluck. Its like "you are invited but you better bring something to be a part of the crowd". If the intention of potluck is socialization, why not just order a bunch of pizzas and do some group activity or hang out after dinner or gather at some restaurant and head somewhere after dinner/lunch ?. Somehow, potluck feels like a gradschool thingy. Well.. this is my opinion :).
