Clean quarters ..

After reducing 2 big bags of paper work to 3 small bundles in June, I never got around to have another such cleaning spree. I had thought I am going to be out of seattle by the end of the year but when the opportunity struck, I wasnt ready for the move. So, here I am at the end of the year still in the same apartment. I wanted change: thoughts ran amock from the idea of buying a downtown condo to renting a downtown apartment but then I need to break my lease or wait for 3 months. I was thinking may be I need change of furniture or switch to a minimalistic lifestyle where I have plenty of space and just the essentials. My friend suggested I hold off for a while and see what other cost neutral changes I could do. Decluttering has been set as the theme.. decided to get rid of old vaccum cleaner, my first purchase ever in the US - my boombox, pedestal fan that I carried around starting from NC, old suitcases, 3 unpacked boxes of stuff - reduced to 1, .. More to go.. I realize part of the problem had been letting go of stuff - old memories, stuff I paid for and might possibly find use for in the future etc. The next set of things waitin for me to clear up are clothes, kitchen stuff, storage closet and paper work :). Inspired by the hotel room I stayed and my friend's quarters which is always spic and span with only stuff that are used daily .. and I get green with envy. Want to start the new year fresh :).
