Well.. this is a question I never get asked by my family. I rather get blamed for all the unhappiness in the family. Few days before the new year, I get a call from my sis.. "Are you seeing somebody?.. Do you have plans to meet folks related to matrimony?.. Do you think you will get a promotion?".. and followed by a conversation with my mom where the next question .. "Folks who went to US after you have got GC and how come you have not got it yet ?"..and both the calls end with me giving an affirmative answer for all questions and unhappy listeners at the other end. Later, the question that crossed my mind was not one of them asked me the question am I happy. Ofcourse, I was definitely reminded of how unhappy they are because of my single status and lack of any achievement status. To be frank, its not that I've not done enough to make their wishes come true but somehow, I've been extremely unlucky in achieving any of the life milestones.
I just so wish I could get a magic wand waved and have them all happy :).

GC and marriage arent life's milestones :). The big milestones happen internally within yourself, like you mentioned in your previous blog post about that TED talk :).
Reaching milestones doesnt bring happiness. Happiness is the milestone.
At the same time, dont worry about your family not asking you THE question. Its only because they think these other things are what bring happiness, so when they ask these questions, they are asking about your happiness indirectly.
