Kannathil Muthamittaal

Finally, I got around to check out this movie. A beautiful poignant story enacted and shot in the best way possible. I really really enjoyed watching this movie.. ofcourse shedding copious tears :). I have met a lot of good willed people who want to adopt kids. Adoption by people living in India is even more challenging. I, personally, know a family that adopted a cute baby girl. Looking at the yearning of the couple to have a kid of their own .. seeing the pain in their eyes, all that the people around them wanted was to find a way to make them happy. When they decided to adopt the girl, everybody were so happy and supportive. I think family support is a critical ingredient for the long term happiness of the couple and their daughter. Now, the baby girl has grown into a beautiful happy contented adolescent .. not knowing that she's adopted. The toughest part of the adoption is the revelation of the truth to the kid and how the family is going to work through it without losing the kid in the process. If at all I have an argument against adoption, its this part.. will one have the strength and maturity to handle the revelation well and help the kid come out unscathed after the revelation ?. Is the revelation necessary at all ?. Or is it better to have only adopted kid(s) or adopt more than one kid so that the kid doesnt feel he or she's the odd man out ?.
